Sex Trafficking

Sex trafficking and homelessness for women, go hand in hand. Homeless women are targeted by traffickers due to their vulnerability. They’re easily lured in by predators with food, shelter, and false representation of being kept safe. The greater Sacramento area is a hot spot for sex trafficking, according to detectives, KCRA3 reports. Terri Galvan, Executive Director of CASH (Community Against Sexual Harm) in Sacramento, recently had an interview with both KCRA3 and CBS and stated, “One of the reasons women do return to the life, [is] because their housing is unstable, [they] don’t have a secure place to live.”
